Conceptual Copywriter Gauteng (Hybrid)

Job Description

As a Conceptual Copywriter, you will craft high-quality, on-brand copy for various social formats. You’ll work closely with creative teams, contributing to small, medium, and large projects with cross-channel thinking to create groundbreaking, unique work. You will keep up with the latest social media trends and audience behaviours, ensuring your writing is relevant and effective. The role requires a strong understanding of creative strategy and the ability to confidently present ideas to the team. Additionally, you will be responsible for proofreading, providing feedback, and mentoring junior team members. You should be comfortable working on-site with alcohol brands if required.

Duties

  • Craft copy for social formats while maintaining high quality.
  • Collaborate with creative teams and internal stakeholders to produce cohesive and valuable work.
  • Present ideas and concepts clearly and confidently.
  • Develop exciting and unique ways to use platforms and formats to create groundbreaking work.
  • Advise junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
  • Proofread copy to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Keep up with the latest social media trends, formats, and audience behaviors.
  • Work on small, medium, and large projects from concept to final product.
  • Demonstrate cross-channel thinking and an understanding of content marketing fundamentals.
  • Work on-brand and adapt different tones of voice for various clients.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Copywriting / Digital Copywriting
  • Proficient in Office 365 (i.e., MS Teams / Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Minimum 4 years working experience as an MW Copywriter in an Advertising Agency / Digital Advertising Agency, TTL & Digital experience is essential (well versed in Digital)
  • Sound knowledge and experience in digital writing, an interest in industry trends (i.e., Twitter spaces and the metaverse), and an understanding of principles and best practices
  • Thorough understanding of social platforms and paid formats
  • Own social account or regularly consumes social media and is familiar with TikTok or curious about it (beneficial)
  • An excellent command of the English language (both verbal and written)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong multitasking skills (ability to work on multiple campaigns/briefs at any given time)
  • Portfolio demonstrating TTL and Digital work
